Days of BurmaFascinated by the contradictions of a country still really to be discovered I embarked on a journey in Myanmar trying to explore it beyond its façade of beautiful postcard pictures. After the political elections of 2015 and the fall of military dictatorship Myanmar is constantly changing but that does not seem to want to realize its ambitions and dreams. Despite the occident’s lure push the country into a increasingly intense tourism, adapting itself to a still harsh global market, Myanmar live between a past rich of traditions, bound to the land and its cycles, and a present where poverty is clearly visible at every street corner, victim of a politics not yet ready to join the people under one flag and still far from enjoyng the well-being of a real economic freedom. Starting from the conventional approach of travel photography I crafted Days of Burma as a sequence of metaphorical response to notion of free country, a project that between religion, exoticism, daily life and urban photography try to characterize the way of life of Burmese society, an attempt to shed new light on a country that is still not talked about enough. | _DSF2731 | _90A9512 | _DSF2492 | _DSF2784 | _90A9526 | _DSF3946 | _DSF4132 | _DSF4099 | _90A9517 | _DSF4191 | _DSF4152 | _DSF2988 | _DSF4323 |
